Sixt Norway Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2010 and 31-Dec-2012

General Rental Information
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving license.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up.
Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
Changing booking
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of NOK 160.00. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be paid back subject to a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations can be made online or in writing and must be addressed to: Sixt Norway Headquarters, BayIndustrier, Box 245, Vestre Strandgate 13, 4663 Kristiansand

No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.

Age Restrictions
The driver has to be in possession of a valid driving license for at least 1 year.
Minimum age in Norway is 21.
Driving license for vehicle group COMN must include approval for category D1.
EU citizens can drive vehicles with up to 8 passenger seats (FVMR).

Conditions of Payment
Flexi Tariff

We accept all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron, Maestro).
Cash Payment is not accepted.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
Prepaid Tariff
The following credit cards are accepted: American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard and Visa. We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron, Maestro).
The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the startof rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of the rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus Value Added Tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.
Generally
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)

Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with unlimited cover for personal injuries and material damages.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage.
The cost of CDW is as follows: see table
If CDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If DW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
All groups: NOK 8,000.-
Except COMN, A, B, C, D, LV, P, S, V: NOK 10,000,-.
(Collision Damage Waiver = V)
Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.
The cost of TP is as follows: see table
If TP is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If TP is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
All groups: NOK 8,000.-
Except COMN, A, B, C, D, LV, P, S, V: NOK 10,000,-.
(Theft Protection = D)
SCDW
If CDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose SCDW to reduce the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
The cost of CDW is as follows: see table
If SCDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
All groups: NOK 2,000.-,
Except COMN: NOK 5,000,-.
(SCDW = G)
STP
If TP is already included in the rates, the renter can choose STP to reduce the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
The cost of TP is as follows: see table
If STP is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
All groups: NOK 2,000.-,
Except COMN: NOK 5,000,-.
(STP = H)
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
By taking out personal accident insurance coverage can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.
The cost of PAI is as follows: see table
By taking out PAI the limit of liability is:
NOK 200,000.- for invalidity,
NOK 100,000.- in case of death.

An Out Of Hours surcharge of NOK 375.- occurs for bookings out of opening hours.
For drop-off out of opening hours a key box is provided.

One-Way Rentals
National

One-Way-Rentals are only allowed between the cities Kristiansand, Stavanger, Oslo, Bergen, Sandefjord and Trondheim.
For One-Way-Rentals within Sixt locations a charge of NOK 500.- up to NOK 12,000.- applies.

International
International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following countries:
For Cross Border Rentals to Denmark, Finland and Sweden no Greencard is needed.
For Cross Border Rentals out of the Nordic countries a written confirmation is needed. Cross Border Rentals are on request only, please contact the local rental station.
When the station has given the permission, a Greencard is needed. This will be given to the customer at the counter.
In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all insurances loose their validity.

Premium Location Fee
A Premium location fee of NOK 295.- occurs for rentals at airport and train stations per month or part thereof.
Mandatory indication of flight number and arrival time.

Registration Fee/Road Tax
In major Norwegian cities, tolls and road taxes may apply. These tolls and road taxes have to be paid by the renter at the end of the rental.

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise a charge of NOK 18.- per litre of petrol or NOK 18.- per litre of diesel.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
